The Deconstruction Of The Space Image Elements Of The Traditional Village Of Hydrographic Net Region In Southern Jiangsu

Since the reform and opening up, the China’s Urbanization Process reshapes urban and rural space rapidly, along with a wide range of China’s rural appearance changed greatly. What should the traditional villages do to inherit their material style in the collision of tradition and modernity? How to show the local culture? Based on researching hydrographic net region in Southern Jiangsu, this paper makes a detailed analysis of the features of the elements of the physical space and behavior culture, and the assemblage characteristics between each element. The paper makes a path of reconstruction and return to the traditional village of hydrographic net region in Southern Jiangsu, through the analyses of the evolution of traditional village image.First of all, this paper extracts the image factors of traditional village space by means of the questionnaires and interviews hydrographic net region in Southern Jiangsu, along with a detailed analysis of its characteristics. The paper holds that: the space image elements of the traditional village of hydrographic net region in Southern Jiangsu can be divided into two levels of material and behavior culture. There are macro settlements, meso texture and micro nodes in the material elements, which express material space image of traditional village of hydrographic net region in a variety of forms and structures in Southern Jiangsu. There are cultural customs, social life and environment in the behavior culture elements, which implies colorful cultural images.Secondly, the paper analyses syntagmatic relationship between material space and behavior culture elements of traditional village of hydrographic net region in Southern Jiangsu, and deconstructs their combined features. The study suggested that: the combined features constitute space images of traditional villages of hydrographic net region in Southern Jiangsu. Composition of material elements shows the regional characteristics of the traditional village, which means settlements surround by the water, streets parallel to the river and buildings are constructed along the river. Behavior culture elements are basedon material space. In turn, behavior and cultural elements make material space more strong local characteristics.Finally, in view of the change, fading, lost of the space image factors of traditional villages of hydrographic net region in Southern Jiangsu, the paper shows that it makes village space image return regressive more easily to inheritance, innovation and abandon,update the image factors. The paper holds that the essence of the return to the image factors in traditional village of Southern Jiangsu, along with the double return to material space and behavior culture image elements.
