Analysis And Research On Plant Landscape Of Liulangwenying Park In HangZhou

Plant and phytoecommunities are important parts of the urban landscape, which has the vitality of landscaping elements, occupied the biggest area in urban park. They are recognized as the main part of landscape space gradually. Liulangwenying Park, which belongs to "Ten Views of the West Lake" in the Southern Song Dynasty is famous for its fantastic plant landscape, both in the domestic and at abroad. Therefore, there is an important significance of analysing its plant landscape construction technique for the modern landscape design.This paper reviews the historical origin of Liulangwenying Park, demonstrates its historical changes, systematically summarizes the course of its evolution, analyses its overall layout and the types of plant landscape, Then introduces the concept of group space and chassifies its landscape space into lawn groups and jungle groups. I also have chosen the main tour route and deeply analysed its sequence changes of plant landscape space. On this basis, lawn group, jungle space and boulevard space are selected as distinctive plants landscape to analyse its layout, spatial features and plant design. Moreover, the ways of creat these various space and a reference for creating a modern plant space are also provided in the paper.According to the results of above investigations, four general characteristics of planting design of Liulangwenying Park are summed up as follows:creating the plant landscapes with distinctive theme; changing the plant density to form the different spaces; constructing the plant space with water and terrain, etc. Some suggestions are put forward in order to keep sustainable plantation landscape of Liulangwenying Park, collecting and establishing data bank of plant landscape, taking care of maintenance management to keep quality, opening lawn space and concerning people first, outstanding characteristic of plant landscape in spring and enriching the plant view of landscape in the fall. At last, combined with the analysis of Liulangwenying Park, I come up with my own thinking and understanding of plants landscape design.
