Railway transportation plays an important role in the economic and social development,while the promoting information technology in railway transportation is an inevitable choice to adapt the needs of the current development. We have made some achievements in the period in promoting information technology. Some information systems has been put into use in railway transportation. But there are also many problems in the railway informatization in china. For example, unbalanced Infrastructure construction, the isolation between railway systems and so on. For better development of the railway system, we need to solve these problems. If ERP system is deployed in Railway, then we can recombine and optimize the Business process of railway. We can achieve the interoperability between systems and ensure the efficient integration of information resources with uncharacteristic openness. Then the reduction of operating costs and promotion of the efficiency of enterprises will come. However, the railway is a complex system, it will be a great challenge for us to promote the informatization in the railway. How to break the Information Silo and achieve interconnection between systems is a bigger challenge.At present, there is not yet a mature ERP system in China’s railway system.The scale of railway system is so huge, the information system’ operation will produce a large scale of business data, which contains a number of unstructured data, for example statements, pictures, system logs. How to store, transmit and deal with these data effectively will be a problem, which we have to deal with. In addition, these data contains great business opportunities and wealth, how to tap the wealth is very important. The information systems in use seem hard to mine these data hidden value. Big data technology is more and more mature, if we can put the big data technology into ERP system, we will solve the problem which system data is hard to store and deal. Besides, we can extract, mine, analysis and manage these business data into significant information which can be used to make decision for managers.This article will focus on the research on the application of big data technology in railway ERP system. Some research on data processing technology was made. This article will focus on how to combine the ERP system with big data technology. On the basis of the research, I designed the platform architecture and put forward some corresponding solutions. The main research contents are as follows:Firstly, I described the great significance of deploying big data technology and ERP system in railway system, and the study on the development of the status at home and abroad.Besides I described the big data processing technology and ERP technology in detail and elaborate how the ERP system integrate resources in railway system effectively to improve the market competitiveness.Secondly, I focus on how big data technology is applied to the ERP system in Railway. I put forward the solution and the corresponding technical architecture to solve the data storage and manage.For some of the key problems in them, for example, how to store small files in HDFS.Thirdly, I made up a scenario to integrate the ERP and other Information systems with Zookeeper.
