With the development of science and technology, telescopes have gradually developed from small-diameter to large-diameter, from lands to outer space. With optical and mechanical electronic technology increasing the precision and complexity of telescopes have significantly increased. At the same time, the requirements of the telescope control system have also stepped on to a higher level. In addition, the development of computer technology, the requirement-of automation telescope control systems has become higher and higher. Telescope control system needs to have a stable, scalable framework, so as to make the telescope control system maintain sustained vitality with the pace of rapid development of technology.This paper introduces the developing trend of domestic and foreign telescopes, and proposed the requirements of telescope control system. Telescope control system needs to be more versatile and, easy to update. Different telescope control system has many similarities in their requirements, which make it possible to gives us a general framework for telescope control structures.The following is the presentation of the control system of FAST, which uses CORBA as communication middleware, using a distributed pattern to building the entire telescope control system. Different components can be connected to each other through the naming service, then exchange the information through message bus. In each component, we mainly use message bus, executor, and feed support subsystems to make an analysis in all aspects of FAST telescope’s control system. In a study of the message bus we use OpenDDS to implement message bus, and test its performance. We use XML in the executor to construct command stream, and complete general command distribution architecture.In the study of BSST telescope control system, we use both RTS2and Epics. RTS2is an open source telescope control framework. Epics is widely used in the accelerator control system for its good real-time performance. We use Epics to control specific hardware, and use RTS2as the upper control framework for telescope control. As for this control system, we make research on the design and realization of executor, using the object-oriented design methods to distribute different commands using different command classes, and combining with RTS2system to realize the control of various subsystems. In addition, we designed the focusing system, realizing the auto focus by controlling the telescope subsystems and camera subsystemsFinally, we make a comparison between processing control technology in the telescope control system of BSST and FAST in many aspects, such as drive model, architecture, and process control. And then we conclude the advantages and disadvantages of the two process control technology.
