Network manufacturing has turned into a major trend in modern manufacturing industry with the revolutionary influence brought by computer network technology. Enterprise informationization, which involves internal and external factors, process of product life as well as all functional divisions, needs to integrate various resources. To ensure the validity, integrality and consistency of data, further promote data exchange and share, it is necessary to have a unitary control of data in the developing process. Based on CORBA/XML technique, the CAPP system is developed to maintain integrality and consistency of the manufacturing process, ensuring enterprises a speedy and accurate data source.Initially reviewing the situation and trend of CAPP system, this dissertation conducted a research on the possibility of applying XML technique on data integration with technical advantage of CORBA / XML. After a comprehensive analysis of CAPP system requirements, a framework of CAPP system on the basis of CORBA/XML under combined B/S and C/S model was put forward, also system functional modules were formed. The dissertation mainly explained the ideology and implementation of CAPP system based on CORBA/XML technology in the data integration. This dissertation discussed the methodology of depicting product manufacturing with an XML-based document tree and the applying of CORBA techniques in program developing. It also put forward a CAPP database system under network manufacturing environment in a mode of XML and conventional database techniques, hence realizing the trans-integration of data, information releasing and subscribing with CORBA technique. It analysed the functional requirements of COBRA under CAPP system and realized trans-system data exchange between CAPP and CAD as well as upload and download from a CORBA server with techniques of XML/CORBA, VC++ and other software. Finally, the rationality and feasibility of CAD/CAPP data integration are tested with an analysis of existing software systems. A good expansibility is confirmed to support connecting with CAM / ERP APDM systems.
