As the most clean and convenient secondary energy, Electricity has an important contribution to the development of national economy. Transformer is a important power equipment that plays a crucial role between power system and users, because it is necessary in the power delivery, distribution and consumption. The transformer cooling system is to maintain safe and stable operation of transformer.In this paper, the Hanshan substation’s transformer cooler structure and operation mode, one and two main transformer’s anomalies are discussed and the incident handling method is given, which is used as a basis for analysis of the cooler control system problems. And then the improvements are made.The programmable logic controller (PLC) is applied to the transformer cooling control system, introduced several aspects of PLC-based controller design that need to be considered. Finally, this paper gives the PLC system design.For transformer cooler control system after reforming process are analyzed, its operation process is introduced in detail.
