The national economy continues to grow rapidly cannot without electric power industry, hydropower plays a special role in the power industry. Turbine units is very important for the efficient and safe operation of power grid security, and efficient and safe operation for power plant economic benefits of the unit plays a leading role. Ensure efficient safe operation of the unit in power plant, the first thing to selection design and installation of generating set reasonable design, calculation of regulation guarantee to ensure the unit can withstand the impact generated when the encounter extreme cases at the same time.Reasonable selection is based on the power station in the grid task and the unique optimal results after comprehensive natural factors. Reasonable selection are the prerequisites for efficient operation, in good running condition changes in plants could also improve the security of the unit. In the calculation, the adjustment of guarantee for the power station may encounter the impact of the extreme cases of guarantee is the guarantee of power station safety. With the development of science and technology, research and development of hydraulic turbine design and more demanding. But in the process of the operation of the hydropower station, often will encounter all sorts of accidents, making unit and system solution, then Off load. At the same time the load rejection, the guide vanes close quickly so that the turbine flow to change sharply. This will resulting in water hammer in water turbine system, make pressure and diversion system changes. Especially in the unit(increased) full load rejection the maximum pressure rise(maximum pressure drop) the largest influence on the strength of the pressure piping system. In hydropower engineering practice has been caused by load rejection pressure rise too high power station pressure steel pipe bursting disaster. Because load all lost at the same time, if you don’t take measures in a timely manner, speed up too high, also can affect the strength of the unit, the life and the vibration of the generating units.So in this paper, according to the specific condition of Thailand EGAT5 hydropower station, the station selected pressure water diversion system layout, size and unit model, then by adjusting guarantee calculation, correctly select reasonably guide blade adopts the first period of closing time of 2.5s, the second closing time two close law of 3s, the maximum pressure on the appreciation and maximum speed on appreciation in the permitted range, so as to ensure the safe operation of power plant.
