Gear transmission is widely used in automobile, engineering, mining, energy equipment and other fields. It is the basis of mechanical transmission. The precision gear transmission is focal and difficult point in gear transmission field, its security and reliability are very important for heavy equipment manufacturing, directly affect the level of China’s industrial manufacturing base. In the field of worm transmission, Professor Wang Jinge proposed a new non backlash double roller enveloping hourglass worm gearing. On the basis of this, Dr. Deng Xingqiao proposed a non-backlash plane enveloping end meshing worm gearing. In this paper, author combines the non-backlash plane enveloping end meshing worm gearing with a non backlash double roller enveloping hourglass worm gearing, and studies on the engagement theory, the three-dimensional entity parameter design, structure design, modeling, optimization design, finite element analysis and other aspects. The main research contents are as follows:The structure and transmission principle of non-backlash roller enveloping end meshing worm gearing are introduced. The meshing theory system of non-backlash roller enveloping end meshing worm gearing is established in ideal conditions by differential geometry and meshing theory. The meshing function, meshing equations, spiral line equations, the worm tooth surface equations are deduced, and tooth surface contact parameters, such as the induced normal curvature, the lubrication angle, rotation angle and relative entrainment speed are gained.The three dimensional modeling and motion simulation of non-backlash roller enveloping end meshing worm gearing are done by creo2.0 software.The load distribution of the finite element model of the worm gear tooth and the load distribution of the contact line are researched by the finite element analysis function of Creo simulate2.0. The tooth contact line load curve and the stress curve, the stress nephogram and the modal graphs are obtained. The result shows the worm gear strength to meet the design requirements.Based on the numerical calculation software Matlab, the geometric characteristics of this transmission are analyzed, the main parameters of this transmission are optimized. The results help to select appropriate parameters of the geometric design. The geometric parameters design of the worm pair which’s the center distance and the transmission ratio is 125mm and 20 respectively is completed.
