Transmission line is the bridge of power system, which is related to the stable and reliable operation of power system. Real-time monitoring of transmission line operation state is crucial for the transmission part of power system. Most of the time transmission line depends on manual inspection to investigate fault lines, and this method wastes manpower and material resources, which become low efficiency and can not realize online real-time monitoring. After that wireless sensing technology is widespread adopted, which is a convenient way to realize the online monitoring. But wireless sensor has low security, which is vulnerable to the high electromagnetic environment. Therefore, the optical fiber sensor was emerged as the times require, optical fiber sensor applied in online monitoring of transmission line can realize transmission of all-optical networks, which really solutes the safety and real-time problem.Firstly, for the feasibility of fiber optic sensor applied in on-line monitoring of transmission line, I independently design a tapered fiber grating sensor. Because the optical fiber sensor itself has the stress and temperature cross sensitivity problem, and the temperature and stress are basic parameters of transmission line, only line temperature and stress values are measured can we obtain the actual change amount of line icing and galloping. Then, I established the mathematical model for every parameter, including transferring the temperature and stress into transmission line icing thickness, galloping acceleration and the tower inclination angle. Finally, according to the actual operation of power system, I designed the layout of each parameter monitoring device in power transmission line and tower.Through the algorithm research of icing and galloping, tower inclination, I designed the software block diagram, which included the user management module, signal receiving module, system management module and information display module. The research is a major breakthrough on optical fiber sensing technology applied in power transmission line monitoring, which laid a solid foundation for the development of the whole power system.
