Because of history, geography and economy, there are a number of earth dwellings in towns and villages. The architecture characteristics of the earth dwellings are diverse. Due to plate tectonics and the cause of the fracture zone, the earthquake occurred in Northeast China frequently. According to the experience of previous earthquakes, earth dwellings often affected heavier, causing serious damage to people’s production and life. The basic information about Earth Dwellings in Northeast China is got. Before earthquake reconstruction policy and emergency preplans are formulated. And after earthquake, earthquake damage prediction will be finished as quickly as possible.This paper mainly focuses on the earth dwellings in Northeast China. The content of this paper is structural characteristics, seismic vulnerability and spatial distribution of earth dwelling in Northeast China. The main research contents are as follows:1. Base on the remote sensing data, visual street data, literature data and other street a few field survey data, the investigation method of earth dwelling information based on multiple data is presented. Compared to the previous survey method of dwelling, this method has the advantages of short investigation period, dynamic updating, less resource. This paper introduces the principle, processing method, principle and procedure of this method. Using the method, earth dwellings in Northeast China are investigated, and the data is given.2. Different ethnic groups have different forms of earth dwellings. From the perspective of the Han nationality, the Manchu nationality, the Korean nationality and the Mongolia nationality, the architectural features, structural features and construction methods are summarized. According to seismic damage data of previous earthquakes, the damage characteristics of earth dwellings in different intensity regions are analyzed. According to the method of making empirical earthquake damage matrix complete, with the seismic vulnerability matrix of earth dwellings in Sichuan Province as the standard matrix, the incomplete seismic vulnerability matrix of earth dwellings in Northeast China, completing matrix.3. In order to accurately grasp the distribution of earth dwellings in Northeast China, as the unit of kilometer grid, the Northeast administrative division is divided into twelve levels. Based on the re-corrected population kilometer grid data, population census data and survey data, the residential distribution and distribution of earth dwellings in Northeast China are drawn.4. Based on the acquired data, using a case of Qian Guo Earthquake, earthquake damage prediction is calculated. The affected population and area, area of residential building and earth buildings in different intensity is given.
