Tall buildings were often endowed with special features, such as high clearance, long span, big openings, thus, the variation range of temperature in vertical direction could be very wide, and the energy consumption of air conditioning system was always huge. Cleanrooms, with strict indoor environment requirements, made even more demands of the system. The stratified air conditioning system, with significant energy saving and economic benefits, had become the main form of tall buildings. The paper made some research on the application of stratified air conditioning system in cleanroom.First of all, based on consulting technical materials, the current development situation of stratified air conditioning and common forms of air conditioning system was introduced. Combined with actual project and required parameters, the paper applied the practical calculation method to carry out the design calculation of air conditioning system. The hourly load of the building was simulated with DeST. The results showed that the two calculations were similar and stratified air conditioning system could save more than 30% cooling capacity load compared with the whole room air conditioning.According to the results, the airflow was designed and checked, and it was simulated with Airpak to confirm the rationality of air flow distribution. Considering the high temperature test at the approval stage, two kinds of solutions were put forward. Through the comparison of base room temperature in different regions, it was found that the room temperature was highly affected. The simulation results showed the way by increasing the inner enclosure structure was not effective, but by increasing the amount of exhausting air in a certain range could make indoor parameters meet the requirements. Finally, the stratified air conditioning system was simulated in the winter, and the simulation indicated that the system was applicable too.Related with actual project, the feasibility and energy-saving efficiency of stratified air conditioning in cleanroom was analyzed in this paper. And in order to solve problems that might encounter during actual operation, the practicability of proposed measures could be simulated and analyzed before putting into use. The paper made some reference and guidance work for practical engineering.
