As China’s harmonious locomotive transport development, the traditional locomotive overhaul management methods can not meet the requirement of real-time online. At the same time, enterprises need a set of scientific maintenance management system, in the case of personnel less than locomotives, to control the defect leak-check within the minimum range, improve the quality of the locomotive overhaul, so as to further reducing labor costs, improve reliability. This thesis selected topic comes from Hengtai technology company and WTKJ who made research on machine inspection at the present stage for Jiangan Depot, the part of detection method for the project has been improved. The first improved is developed the system of pantograph feature detection based on wireless sensor network, the second improved is the use of image processing and pattern recognition method to detect the integrity of the moving parts, lay the foundation for the subsequent maintenance efficient management.At first, this thesis has introduced the development status of wireless sensor network and ZigBee technology. On this basis, put forward a pantograph characteristics detection system based on wireless sensor network, the two part of the device for the left and right sides is symmetric, both sides are provided with sliding folding arm, the folding arm is fixed on the pantograph slide plate; equipped with probe array pressure sensor, acceleration sensor, infrared sensor, ultrasonic sensor, temperature sensor, can measure pantograph height, pressure, the thickness of slide plate and so on. Wireless communication unit is connected with each sensor, and sent the sensor data to PC, PC processed sensor data, and made prediction.Moving parts inspection was detected by image processing and pattern recognition methods, has taken the stone and sand pipe for examples, a significant feature of component integrity is the line contour horizontally, the target recognition method based on Harris corner, edge detection method is used to obtain the target characteristics, liner Hough line detection method to detect line contour horizontally of the target.Applied ZigBee network in the locomotive maintenance system is an attempt, suitable for the maintenance staff of the pantograph detecting system’s realizable solution is communication computer are placed in workshop, maintenance staff carry pantograph maintenance device to the roof, installed repair device on the pantograph slide, as the process of lifting the bow can communication via the wireless sensor network computer automatically send testing data, so as to improve the working efficiency, data accuracy, and can monitor personnel whether undetected. The integrity of the parts of the image research can reduce the workload for maintenance personnel, reduce the locomotive inspection time, for their daily work to improve the efficiency of locomotives.
