There is a huge of research space in reducing repetitive operation of Hydro-structure Reinforcing Bars, which plays as an important element in structure design of hydraulic engineering. First, as a result of abundant similar and same rebar’s reuse, lots of repetitive manual operation is carried out. Secondly, a great deal of repetitive modeling operation is also carried out due to 3D re-modeling of similar and same rebar. Focusing on the above problems, a solution is proposed based on knowledge reuse of model based definition.The solution is based on design knowledge which divides into static knowledge and procedure (dynamic) knowledge. Model based definition (MBD) is introduced as a way of knowledge representation so as to better integrate and manage all kinds of information digitally in 3D model over the course of reinforcing bars. On this basis, knowledge reuse based on hydro-structure reinforcing bars is implemented through knowledge reuse based on similarity and design process template. As a result, the research emphasis is divided into two aspects:Firstly, based on the description and management to the MSD’s Hydro-structure Reinforcing Bars knowledge, one MSD description method and knowledge base method for the Hydro-structure Reinforcing Bars is proposed. Specifically, the feature tree of the rebar model was established, depending on the no n-geometrical information standard of MSD’s data sets, to illustrate the static knowledge; the reinforcement demo was established, depending on the geometrical information standard of MSD’s data sets and combined with template technology, to show the process knowledge. In addition, by employing CATALOG to manage the geometrical information of MSD’s data set and employing data set to manage its non-geometrical information, the knowledge base management based on MSD’s Hydro-structure Reinforcing Bars was accomplished. Secondly, one scheme composed of Hydro-structure Reinforcing Bars’reusing of the static knowledge and reusing of the process knowledge was proposed based on the knowledge reusing of Hydro-structure Reinforcing Bars and its accomplishment, and this method has been verified and accomplished. There into, the design of static knowledge reuse depending on the reasoning method based on similarity; the design of process knowledge reusing depending on second-development of the template technology. Combination with two kinds of reusing design, the integrated knowledge reusing scheme of Hydro-structure Reinforcing Bars was shaped, and these design knowledge reusing method was implemented and verified via the valve chamber model related to the Hydro-structure Reinforcing Bars.In this thesis, the secondary development of CATIA design software and rapid achieving system of Hydro-structure Reinforcing Bars were accomplished, two typical rapid design examples of the gluten and the stirrup were shown. The proposed method in this thesis could decrease repeated manual reinforcement work and repeated rebar modeling in Hydraulic reinforcement at a certain extent.
