Improving the status of equipment of extra high voltage 500 KV major transmission network with the way of the equipotential live working, has become an important strategy for status maintenance of transmission line. It’s also an inevitable demand of grid development and reliability for power distribution. While the compact arrangement type of tower heads in extra high voltage multi-loop transmission has brought difficulties to control the safe distance of electrical equipment in live working. So it is needed to provide a visual platform for fast simulating and checking the plan of live working for 500 KV same tower multi-loop transmission line. And it is also needed to provide a coincident actual three-dimensional visual simulation for entering the electric field which is the most key process in live working.The development of three-dimensional visual technology combines the computational visualization and virtual reality technology, uses the information of transmission and geography, and provides the technical support for three-dimensional visualization of transmission line. This paper discusses using multi-source laser measurement technology to collect data of transmission line, building subtly a three-dimension model, realizing the real time measurement show of computational simulation of the power frequency electric field distribution of tower heads, and simulating live working. It discusses the three main issues including environment building of three-dimensional visual system, seamless integration of model data, browse and query, etc.The paper surveys and analyzes the demand and design plan of system in accordance with the requirements of object-oriented software development. Firstly, in stage of analysis of demand, it elaborates the main functions for system in detail by using case diagram and working process. Secondly, in stage of design of system, it put forwards the multilayer global framework and B/S technological structure, and describes the design of system module such as data processing, three-dimensional simulation, and browse & query. It also introduces the data setting. Lastly, in stage of realization of functions for the system, the paper elaborates the development environment of system and the configuration of software & hardware environment. It describes the realization process of functions for system, the partial interfacial screenshot as well as realization code. Ultimately it realizes the three-dimensional visual simulation for process of entering the electric field in live working of 500 KV same tower multi-loop transmission line.
