With the development of electronic information technology, the development of instrument markets in the field of measuring and testing is vigorously promoted. As one of commonly used measuring instrument: oscilloscope, is developing rapidly. Digital storage oscilloscope as a product of electronic technology evolution in recent years, is widely used in the measurement fled, with the charateristics of rich functions, high performance and excellent human-computer interaction.For the low-end digital oscillocope, the core architecture generally is DSP+FPGA. Based on the traditional framework, this issue takes further optimized with using the architecture of DSP+FPGA+ARM. On the hardware level, this subject adopts integrated dual core processor: OMAP-L138, and in order to play better performance of the two cores, Linux and DSP/BIOS are used on the software level. This design has several advantages over traditional architecture: fisrtly the release of the DSP makes the DSP can focus on data processing with its advantages; secondly the introduction of ARM makes implement control better and simpler; finally the using of dual system enchances the ability of peripheral management and task scheduling. This issue on the basis of the actual product research and developmnet of enterprise, aim at promoting the competitivenss in the oscilloscope market through a varity of innovative design.Based on the OMAP hardware platform, this paper completed the follwing tasks with analyzing the oscilloscope system and dividing tasks for the the cores:1. Set up software development platform to provide a friendly environment for application development;2. Gives a practical project the implementation of boot mode by understading the chip inner principle, at the same time, realize the system boot screen in a new method for the special needs of the project;3. Introduces DSP/BIOS operating system processing, and gives the structural design for the application, then puts foeward two kinds of communication interface in view of large amount of data communication, and finally provides some optimization method for DSP side application;4. Complete the Linux root file system, and implements the dual-core communication design, and puts forward a new solution for dual-core debugging.This project adopts new structure design, and get better performance than the past.No matter on the data procesing capacity, human-computer interaction, as well as peripheral support, has greatly improved. Therefore this issue is of great significance for the development and research of the oscilloscope.
