In recent years, MAV (micro air vehicle) becomes a new hotspot in the field of aircraft design. MAV has the advantages of small volume, light weight, good concealment, and has the ability completing some special tasks of difficulties for conventional aircraft in some special domains (such as:city anti-terrorism, biochemical detection, geological exploration and other fields); comparing with micro fixed and rotor wing aircrafts, flapping wing micro air vehicle integrates lift and propulsion functions into one body, and also has a stronger flexibility, so the flapping wing flight mode has been regarded as the main object of study.The primary and secondary feathers of birds wings will open and close with the flutter motion of wings, thus produce positive lift; In the flow field of bird wings, except the front edge and wake region of wings, other regions can be regarded as field of no vertex, and the production of lift and thrust has a close relationship with the vortexes. According to the above two ideas, this paper open holes by different layouts on the surface of the imitation of dove wings, then install loose-leaves on the holes, to simulate the bird wings feather and explore the influence on dynamic characteristics of flapping wing aircraft.First, numerical simulation method. This paper build the model of flapping wing micro air vehicle and simulate its motion by ADAMS; then establish the models of all airfoils and grid them by ICEM CFD; finally simulate the flow fields of airfoils by FLUENT to obtain a series of lift coefficient and drag coefficient curves at different control environments. After analysis, this paper get the conclusion that the flapping wing micro air vehicle which is equipped with loose-leaves at the leading edges of wing tips or at the position of secondary feather has a better aerodynamic characteristic.Then, experiment analysis method. This paper mounts the wings without holes and the wings with holes cut by different loose-leaf layouts on the transmission mechanism which can be started at different velocities, then equip the mechanism onto the simple wind tunnel test platform we self-design for measuring the lift and make a series of experiments. Through process and analysis of the lift data,this paper obtain similar conclusions with numerical simulation method:opening holes with reasonable loose-leaf layouts on the wings can improve the aerodynamic characteristic of flapping wing aircrafts.
