Electroluminescent lamp is a kind of cold light source, it’s driving voltage is high, it’s electric current is small, and it’s power consumption is low. In recent years, the energy problem is becoming more and serious. Energy conservation has become the important slogan of the new century. All countries in the world have been developing energy-saving equipment. As a new generation of lighting device, application of electroluminescent lamp attracts more and more attention. Design of the EL lamp driver also becomes an important subject in the field of power electronics.This project comes from the major national project. We use the CSMC 120 V BCD process to manufacture this chip. We have already invented a new chip, it can be used to drive an EL lamp. The traditional EL lamp driver consists of transformer and some devices, therefore it’s volume is bigger, it’s weight is heavier, and it’s cost is higher. In this paper, we adopt integrated circuit design method to design the EL lamp driver. We put the peripheral devices integrated inside the chip. It’s output voltage is more than 100 V. It’s working voltage ranges from 3V to 5V. Its output signal can drive the EL lamp.In this paper, we use the boost circuit to get a high voltage more than 100 V. We use the H bridge circuit to convert DC voltage to AC square wave. This chip has six modules:Boost circuit, current source circuit, oscillator, control circuit, H bridge logic control circuit, H bridge. The whole circuit and each module are verified, all function operators can meet requirements.The author divided the high voltage and low voltage module layout in isolation. In this paper, we adopt a kind of LDMOS to make the breakdown voltage of the MOSFET more than 100 V. We manufacture this chip in CSMC.Finally, the author completed the test of each module, and designed a new application circuit, and finished the test of the whole circuit. The testing results show that the performance of the chip and the indicators have met the requirements. This chip has been tested by China Research Institute, all the data is valid.
