Due to the development of radar technology, warship stealth is also more and more attention all over the world.But due to the complex structure of the warship,usually not directly to the whole of Warship Stealth Design, but its split into different parts, different part of radar stealth design;As a part of the warship the mast column is easy to be detected by radar, so it more need to be stealth designed.The mast column belongs to electrically large structures,for the traditional RCS prediction algorithm, if choose the exact algorithm to calculate it, although can get high precision, but the computation time, the consumption of resources is very large; if choose the high frequency algorithm, although can reduce the computational resources consumption, but also the accuracy of results will be reduced.For that reason,this paper designed a hybrid algorithm to estimates the mast column RCS, and the hybrid algorithm combining the advantage of the Mo M method and physical optics method.It can ensure the calculation accuracy at the situation of computational resource consumption be substantially reduced.First this paper compares the calculation results of the Mo Ment method and physical optics method.Then find the part where the physical optics method’s calculation result has the large error on the mast column.Then divide the mast colum into Mo M and PO regions,that error part is divided into Mo M regions, using the Mo Ment method calculation, to reduce the error of this part and improve the accuracy of the final. In order to increase the calculation accuracy,then Introduced the effect of mutual coupling in the formula.finally deriving a hybrid algorithm based on Mo M-PO; the fast multipole algorithm was introduced into the hybrid algorithm, calculation of the hybrid algorithm for speedup, finally get the hybrid algorithm based on Mo M-PO-FMM.The algorithm is programmed by C++ language,this software is used to calcuate the RCS of the warship mast column. And compared with the measured value, proves the correctness of the algorithm; Then using the Mo Ment method and the hybrid algorithm on the same mast column to calculate the RCS, the results shows that the hybrid algorithm can greatly reduce the consumption of resources,and at the same time, as far as possible to reduce the decline in accuracy.So the final show that the hybrid algorithm can use fewer resources to estimate the mast column’s RCS, achieved the expected of this paper.
