Technologies on the-Internet-of-Things and sensors have experienced a rapid development in recent years. Based on these technologies, people put forward new applications such as wisdom city, intelligent traffic, intelligent household, etc. Along with the improvement of people’s living standard, high-tech products have been getting rapidly into daily life and playing an increasingly important role. As an important part of them, smart home devices are able to bring people great convenience in daily life.However, the existing smart home products have many problems and shortcomings:They differ in quality and level; They are too expensive for ordinary family to use; Their functions are neither multiple nor extendible; They have no open interfaces and standards so that products of different companies can hardly be coordinated; The old domestic appliances cannot be upgraded to be intelligent ones, leading to that people have to discard old appliances and equip new ones, etc.Through analyzing the demands of intelligent household and studying the related technologies, this dissertation proposes a three-level architecture of intelligent household and outlined an overall design at the beginning, then focuses on designing an intelligent household sensor node to cope with disadvantages on existing products. The following parts are included in this dissertation- demands analysis, overall design, detailed hardware circuit and software design, and function verification. The following aspects are mainly discussed in this dissertation-The CPU of the sensor node; design of the important sensor models; how CPU drives the sensor models; the communication protocol between the sensor node and its upper level machine; the software procedure of the micro control unit, etc.The involved key technologies are also discussed. Intelligent household sensor nodes can be used as intelligent household terminal devices, but their functions are not limited in domestic usage-adding more sensors with specific functions, it can also serve as a sensor network node in industrial environment to fulfill the demands of intelligent monitoring and alarm. At the end, this dissertation gives a brief discussion on intelligent household gateway, and implements a version of intelligent gateway software to test the function of sensor node. The function test is based on this gateway, and test result shows that the sensor node realizes the excepted functions.The physical layer of intelligent household is studied in this dissertation, which can be an important reference to further research and development. What’s more, researchers can continue with studies on network layer devices and application layer devices based on this dissertation.
