Vehicle ad hoc network (VANET) is a branch of mobile ad hoc network (MANET). In a vehicle ad hoc network, moving vehicles which are transferred as mobile nodes can communicate to each other therefore compose a mobile wireless network. As an important part of intelligent transportation, vehicle ad hoc network has become the foundation of Internet of Things and is playing important role on improving the security and the efficiency of transportation as well as affording third-party service. Nowadays, vehicle ad hoc network is getting more and more attention and has become a research hotspot. This thesis studies a solution of network segmentation on the basic of analyzing the overseas and domestic research status of vehicle ad hoc network routing protocol, structure of vehicle network communication system and frequently-used vehicle ad hoc network mobile model. This method successfully solves the network segmentation problem caused by the dynamic changes of network topology, through introducing the concept of network segmentation and calculates the value of network segmentation rate of the vehicle notes and selects the smaller one to recovery the route and then to improve the success rate of repair and packet forwarding. This thesis further studies the issue of long delay time of routing recovery and poor effect when using MANET routing protocol into VANET as to the vehicles from different directions and then studies a distributed routing recovery method. This method calculates the reliability value of link based on which to select reliable route to recovery the route. The process of routing recovery is a way of on-demand driven and the process of vehicles’ finding resource is the process of route is established. The thesis establishes the simulate scene of vehicle network under the conditions of NS2 by adopting the macroscopical motion model of high speed traffic flow. The routing recovery methods are simulated. It’s proved that methods can reduce the delay of routing recovery and the expense and improve the success rate of the routing recovery and the survival time of route.
