With the development and application of Cloud Manufacturing, Internet of Things and other new technology, enterprises take more attention on the speed and quality of their own service. The big and complex equipment plays a key foundation for enterprises’ operation, its maintenance is an important item to keep enterprises operating continually and also can decrease the loss. In this era of knowledge competition, knowledge has been a high-economic resource. The maintenance cases of big and complex equipment is specific domain knowledge, with a reasonable and effective management of this knowledge, it can enhance the level of equipment maintenance and increase the competition capability. The knowledge management of equipment maintenance cases is the core part in equipment maintenance. Based on the summarizing and analyzing the existing research and deficiency, taking the ontology idea for reference, it proposed an ontology-based knowledge management framework of big and complex equipment maintenance cases, in this framework, two parts got intensively researched, they are ontology-based equipment maintenance case knowledge management and retrieval. The main work and innovative points are as follows:Based on the summarizing and analyzing the knowledge structure and characters of the big and complex equipment maintenance case, here put forward the ontology-based knowledge management model of equipment maintenance case which contains two modules:case representation and case retrieval, for these two modules, ontology provides the sharing semantic basis.It proposed a three layer knowledge representation framework of equipment maintenance case, and constructed five sub-ontologies, namely, equipment structure sub-ontology, failure mode sub-ontology, reason sub-ontology, condition state sub-ontology and scheme sub-ontology, and using the Protege to realize them.According to the deficiency of traditional case retrieval method, as well as combining with the knowledge structure hierarchy of ontology based case representation, it brought forward an ontology based case retrieval process of equipment maintenance. Furthermore, a key research was taken on the knowledge retrieval method of maintenance case, and at last, a comprehensive retrieval algorithm was designed by combination of Concept Semantic Similarity and Vector Quantization Similarity.The research work of this thesis has proved the validation and feasibility of the application of ontology in equipment maintenance case management.
