Expression And Analysis Of Regional Characteristics In Urban Park

With the rapid development of economy and the expanding of the cities,the traditional urban living environment are eroded gradually, regional characteristics are disappearing step by step and the local culture is in the grip of an unprecedented crisis.Today, the cities are becoming the same and the urban landscape with no features, is lacking of cultural connotation. The reason is the independent of regional traditional characteristics and the site features. In the condition of the high speed development in cities, it is an important problem to be solved in the current landscape design to create urban landscape with regional characteristics and enhance the city competitiveness.As an important part of urban landscape, urban parks play an important role in presenting the city, displaying the ninner appeal and loading the culture.In information age, the heighly development of science and technology make the regional characteristics from the space restriction. In the urban park design, we should treat the regional characteristics and theirs expression in a new way. On one hand, we inherit and develop traditional forms of regional characteristics, on the other hand, we should retain and innovation the existing forms of regional characteristics. The urban parks based on regional characteristics, with the good use of the regional characteristics elements, can keep alive for a long time and the unique forms of urban parks can also be created. Therefore, the study of regional characteristics expression in urban park has great significance.This article starts with regional characteristics. It has analysed the development of regional characteristics research, combined with the related theoretical basis, summarized three regional characteristic features—relevance,growth and continuity, and pointed out that the regional comprehensive factors such as natural and humane have an influence on the formation of regional characteristics.With the study of the main problems of regional characteristics expression in the modern urban parks, this article discusses the reasons. On this basis, it elaborates the elements of regional characteristic expression in urban parks from plants, topography, water system, architecture, sculpture and material. Combining with the performance principles of regional characteristics—comply with climatic conditions,combined with geographical environment, inheriting regional culture, using of plant resources and selecting appropriate technologies and materials, it elaborates the urban parkdesign based on regional characteristics from direct expression, metaphor and symbol.Finally through the analysis of tianyuan park landscape design in zhengzhou, this article concludes the different ways of creating urban parks with regional characteristics, such as representation of farmland forms, application of farmland colours, selection of native tree species, use of traditional architecture materials and exhibition of farmland sketchs, to provide a reference for the construction of urban parks in China.
