With economic and social developing in Zhengzhou city,the population has been increasing dramatically and growing travel demand has been so overwhelmed by urban traffic. City traffic congestion has brought more travel time and more operation cost to the public,which has had an bad influence on people’s daily life and the whole city sustainable development.This paper bases on studying the related theories of the relationship between urban area of land use structure and urban traffic congestion,through linear regression to analyze the correlation between urban land use structure and traffic rate in the central city of Zhengzhou,and from the perspective of land use on the quantitative analysis of the different nature of the land bringing traffic congestion degree in rush hours:downtown intersection traffic congestion has the closest relationship with the land for commercial finance, medical and health care; downtown intersection traffic congestion has closer relationship with the land for residential land, administration,colleges and universities; public green land and municipal utilities land can decrease the rate of intersection traffic congestion.Based on each main road congestion of the investigation in the central city Zhengzhou,we propose the solutions to traffic congestion from the qualitative angle: reduce commercial land in the center of downtown to promote the development of Zhengzhou city; distribute the medical and health land equally and serve the surrounding community efficiently; living- Office to be reasonable to reduce commuting time; Suburbanization of university land appropriately to ease traffic pressure; increase public green space within each group to improve the living environment level; rational arrangement of municipal utilities; strengthen land management.
