With the gradual propulsion of urbanization and the usage of land resource, high-rise residential building has developed rapidly in recent years. Earthquake is a vital factor of the safety of high-rise residential building, and the building would be the state of elastic-plastic under the effect of a violent earthquake. Besides, the state of plastic and displacement of building-structure are prime factors damaging structure, therefore, the study of high-rise residential building, which is suffering violent earthquake, is of great significance both in theory and engineering-application.During the process, some real engineering cases about high-rise shearing wall are referred, and MIDAS finite element software is applied to analyze the numerical simulation, both in static and dynamic performance. Particularly, the following work is conducted in this paper.First of all, after referring some real engineering cases, MIDAS finite element software is employed to develop three-dimension model needed in analyzing process, and the division of the building floor, material, loading etc. are defined. By analyzing the model, the frequency and cycle of the structure are calculated, after which the first ten-order distribution of displacement is conducted, showing translation in the first four-order, rotation in the fifth and sixth order, and that displacement has a little impact on the structure when translation and rotation scale down after tenth-order.Following the process of analyzing the design, static elasticity analysis of the building is conducted, and the calculation of horizontal and vertical static elasticity, under modal loading status, is processed by adopting the method of incremental displacement. After the performance points are picked out by ability-curve, the process of plastic-hinge, both in the condition of frequent and seldom earthquake, is studied respectively. By analyzing the state of distribution of plastic-hinge, the interlayer displacement, the angle of the interlayer displacement under frequent earthquake, it shows that the structure is elastic under frequent earthquake and it keeps the same in seldom earthquake with some plastic-hinges.Finally, with the process of static elasticity analysis of the building, a couple of artificial and natural waves are applied to conduct horizontal and vertical loading calculation. By analyzing non-liner time-history, the max displacement is some different in different earthquake wave, and most of the structure is in elastic condition. Under the circumstance of seldom earthquake, elastic hinge comes up and the angle of the interlayer displacement is under control. Compared with The results of static pushover analysis, the one of the yield level of the structure is little.
