In recent years, with the continuous progress of China’s urbanization process, construction projects have increased generally, especially high-rise buildings are widely throughout the country. Construction layer gradually increased, resulting in horizontal direction effect becomes important in the design of high-rise buildings, especially with irregular and complex high-rise buildings, they are more likely to suffer serious destruction because of the earthquake. Because of the strong destructive earthquake, domestic and foreign experts pay the special attention to the seismic design of building structure in the housing design, looking for a more perfect seismic analysis method, so that the structure has a good seismic performance. Based on the performance of the seismic theory, engineers can understand and master the performance of the buildings better under earthquake conditions. It is an important content in the seismic analysis of building structures to study the safety of high-rise buildings under rare earthquakes. At this time, the structure is generally in the stage of elastic and plastic operation. Therefore, the elastic and plastic analysis method is needed. And the structure of the elastic-plastic analysis can be divided into two kinds:static elastic-plastic analysis and dynamic elastic-plastic analysis.This paper is based on the existing literature, and the following work has been done for a real high-rise shear wall structure:(1) Under multiple earthquake using mode decomposition response spectrum method of this engineering structure analysis, analysis results show that it has good torsional stiffness and the analysis results are consistent with norms, meet the minor earthquake seismic fortification target.(2) Under frequently occurred earthquake action by elastic dynamic history method analysis of the engineering structure, through the time history analysis of the calculation results and the vibration mode decomposition response spectrum method, analysis results show that the calculated results of the mode decomposition response spectrum method are reliable and meet the specification requirements.(3) Under the rare earthquake by using static and dynamic elastic-plastic analysis method of the engineering structure, analysis results show that the structure of the building collapse resistant capacity is enough, can withstand the major earthquake earthquake, can achieve "no collapse under severe earthquake", the structure has good bearing capacity and deformation through the above analysis. The weak parts of the building structure, the strengthening measures appropriate to it. For this project, two kinds of elastic-plastic analysis method are close to the results, the use of static method can effectively save time, improve efficiency. At the same time, the selection of the dynamic analysis results obtained can be used as a supplement to the static analysis, so as to evaluate the seismic performance of the structure.
