Space Form Analysis Of Chinese-west Landscape Architecture On Line And Shape

Landscape is the art of space. Landscape space consists of line, shape and body, taking the spatial unit, spatial structure and spatial sequence as the core, which is similar to architectural space. This paper tries to analyze the trajectory, graphic construction and the space creation in hope to explore the basic password that forms the landscape architecture intellectually, which also can be called space unit.In the landscape architecture, line is the basic modeling factor and visual element. Switzerland abstract artist Paul Klee once told that line is not only an outline, but also the thrust, movement, strength and relationship. Line can enclose to different shapes under the change of force, the space can be built by the three-dimensional shape, and the touring experience of people can be affected by the shape of force. Therefore, it is of great significance to interpret the basic mode of line and shape, as well as the garden spatial form, so as to apply this theory to landscape architecture.To extract the rule of spatial form which hidden in varieties of landscape elements, this paper according to points, lines and shapes, theoretically on the basis of typology, space and environmental psychology, first define the simple line, complex line, simple shape and complex shape, introduce the internal and external corner theory, interpret the dynamic feelings that complex line and shape bring to people. Then analyze the characteristics of how lines and shapes form the spaces, and summarize in a diagram after comparing the static of simple space and the motility of complex space. Finally analyze some representatives of traditional and modern Chinese and foreign landscape, take off the decorative elements, opposed to planar shape, break up to lines. Then analyze the different patterns of lines, shapes and spaces, combine with the environmental psychology to study the dynamic feelings of each spatial form.By the analysis conclusion, the Western classical landscape architecture is composed of simple line, simple shape and simple space, the Chinese traditional landscape architecture is composed of complex line, complex shape and complex space, and the British landscape architecture is between the two. Modern landscape architecture is composed of complex line, complex shape and complex space, which is similar to Chinese traditional landscape architecture. The natural complex line, complex shape and complex space provide a new vocabulary and composition principle of design for the modern landscape design, thus the extended free line, dynamic plane and flowing space provide a brand-new contemporary landscape design concept.
