At present, the scale of ship building in C hina has been ranked first in the world, but been lack of advanced monitoring and management means compared with advanced foreign shipbuilding countries. It is difficult to ensure safety in the shipbuilding process of lifting operation and the production efficiency is very low. The research originates from the situation that C hina attaches great importance to the safety of special equipment including hoisting machinery and shipyard presses for an advanced monitoring system of shipbuilding crane. To solve the problems of low detection veracity rate, high cost and lowly data integration facing many sensors in current monitoring system of large shipbuilding, the application of the Internet of Things technology in the industry field of shipbuilding is put forward. That is, Internet of Things is used in monitoring system of shipbuilding crane.On the basis of the most representative structure of the Internet of Things, four hierarchies of the system structure are proposed. The structure collectively contains the sensors(Sensing layer), shipyard networking technology and gateway devices(Network layer), embedded acquisition and control machine(Access layer), and remote monitoring platform(Application layer). The sensors can detect location and altitude of the running cranes, position of the trolley and the hoist,rotation and pitching angle of portal crane jib arm, inclination of the fuselage, wind speed data, and so on. Then embedded acquisition and control machine installed in the driving room acquires and processes the data. The communication between each acquisition and control machine and the remote monitor server is realized through the AP wireless network technology. The remote monitoring platform carries out the real-time data monitoring and the implementation of anti collision algorithm based on all status data of the whole crane group to ensure the safety of construction of each crane. Users can access remote monitoring platform through the Internet by mobile or portable monitoring terminal.This system can monitor the running state of shipyard crane and make rapid diagnosis according to the remote transmission of data to decrease the failure rate of crane, minimize detection and maintenance time, improve production efficiency of shipyard, realize real-time monitoring and safety management of lifting equipment, improve the levels of precision, intelligence and visualization of hoisting, enhance the ability to protect equipment comprehensively. Therefore, the Internet of Things technology has a high value of practical application in the crane monitoring system.
