With the rapid development of information and technology,the market competition is becoming increasingly fierce. As a traditional industry of machinery manufacturing, low value-added products and profit margins are limited, the scale effect has completely played. To succeed in the fierce competition in the steady development, The enterprises must keep pace with the information. In particularly, the small and medium sized manufacturing enterprises with multi variety and small batch production mode, lack of strong core competitiveness, which needs the help of information technology to strengthen the management, to manage for efficiency in order to obtain long term development.Based on the analysis of enterprise order driven business processes and data flows, according to the enterprise’s production and management needs, we develop a production planning system for the enterprise operation mode. The production planning system introduces modules of the system architecture, database design and development. The system realizes the company’s production schedule, master production scheduling, material requirements specified planned orders and the balances capacity needs, which greatly improves the production management level of enterprises.Firstly, the thesis analysis the enterprise of production status, and business process for detailed, determines the system development task and target, while using UML established the enterprise production plans system of model; then analysis system logic process of design, then described system database of design; then on system development process in the of key problem as company production task, and main production plans MPS, and rough capacity needs plans RCCP, and material needs plans MRP, and capacity needs plans CRP of design and algorithm analysis. Finally developed to illustrate and test the production planning system to ensure the system meets user requirements and functional.The design of the enterprises ’ production planning system actual test result is well, which meets the needs of enterprise production planning based on orders and improve of the core competitiveness enterprise management and the core competence of more evidence of the feasibility and necessity of manufacturing enterprise’s information management.
