Following the manufacture technology enhancement and the manufacture pattern improvement, the improvement of limited manufacture resources utilization to satisfy the rapid changeable market requirement has been become an important realistic question. The demand for product diversification is being increased, which compels the manufacturing industry change to the multi-varieties and volume-changeable production. The enterprise has to adapt the fast changeable market environment as soon as possible to obtain the maximum economic efficiency through the smallest operation cost.The enterprise competitive ability enhancement benefits from both the software and hardware. The hardware here refers to the enterprise's manufacturing resources, while the software corresponds to the enterprise's management method. Making the enterprise's manufacturing resources rational distribution and under the utilization science management method premise can enhance the equipment utilization and improve the competitive ability of the enterprises.Firstly, the piston machining processes are reconfigurated with the production line balance requirement based on the analysis of the typical piston processing characteristics. The fixtures and jigs are designed by using the modular design methodology. The piston production line is achived balance and the setup time as well as the span time of the pistion production line is reduced. The production line is enhanced response ability to the volume-changable operations.Secondly, synthetical and mast productive plan are programmed based on the literature review of the existed productive planning methodology and characteristics.Thirdly, two kinds of parallel machine schedulings are investigated for piston production lines. The mathematical models are given the pistion production schedulings and are solved by using the improvement genetic alogorism. The pistion production loads are balanced with batch division technology. The effectiveness of the proposed method is validated.Finally, the program of the two kinds of schedulings and process planning for pistion production line is edited using MATLAB software. The piston scheduling and process planning system is developed by using the hybrid programming with DDE, the ActiveX technology at the environments of VB 6.0 and MATLAB 6.5.This thesis is supported by Shandong Distinguished Middle-aged and Young Scientist Encourage and Reward Foundation (2005BS05001) and Doctoral Disciplines Research Foundation of the State Ministry of Education (20040422023).
