As the elevator runs faster and faster, the vibration of the elevator has become increasingly significant. The comfort of occupant is severely affected by the exacerbation of vibration during elevator operation. Elevator vibration is divided into horizontal vibration and vertical vibration, wherein horizontal vibration is related to the guide rail straightness, roundness of the guide wheel, the position of the center of gravity of the elevator car and etc. Among these the undulating of guide is the main cause of elevator horizontal vibration. To reduce the elevator vibration and improve the comfort of occupant, it is needed to suppress the vibration particularly in the horizontal direction.Vibration suppression can be conducted by reducing the vibration source. When the vibration source cannot be reduced, method of vibration control is needed to reduce the vibration. Vibration control can be divided into passive control, semi-active control and active control. Passive control uses conventional damper and likely method to reduce the transmission of vibration signals. However, the effect of passive control is limited. In semi-active control, the parameters of the damper can be adjusted in real time, thus the effect of vibration is improved. In active control, according to control theory, the vibration signal is detected by the sensor, appropriate control strategy is adopted, active control method is used to suppress the vibration. Compared to passive control, it is possible to further improve the vibration effect.In this paper, active control method of vibration suppression was used. Firstly, the vibration source and the mechanism of elevator horizontal vibration were analyzed while the quarter mathematical model of elevator was established. Then voice coil motor as the actuator was analyzed and the mathematical model was established. Meanwhile feedback control was used as control strategy, appropriate feedback magnification was chosen, the effect of vibration suppression was verified in Simulink environment. Finally embedded DSP processor was chosen, the controller was designed and related experiments were conducted on the reduced-size vibration test platform to verify the actual effect of active vibration control.Through simulation and experiments, the transmission of vibration could be significantly suppressed using feedback control strategy. The desired effect could be achieved.
