Ultrasonic motor(USM) is a new concept of micro motor, the working principle of the use is inverse piezoelectric effect of piezoelectric ceramic, compared with the traditional electromagnetic motor, there are advantages such as low speed high torque, quick response speed, no electromagnetic interference, power locks, etc. In precision instruments, medical equipment, mechanical arm, aerospace, new weapons, and other fields have broad application prospects.Ultrasonic motor research mainly includes the motor model and the research of the controller. Although currently developed motor controller variety, but there are still many shortcomings. Speed control method is too simple, for example, can only realize frequency modulation speed, can further realize the frequency of the motor, voltage, phase control method combining the three variables; At the same time control circuit can realize the open-loop control, can’t realize adaptive control, the direct impact on the stability of the motor work. In order to give full play to the excellent performance of ultrasonic motor, research and development of high performance controller is particularly critical. This article mainly from the following aspects of the ultrasonic motor controller is studied, to explore.(1)Mainly introduced the development history of ultrasonic motor, this paper expounds the converse piezoelectric effect of piezoelectric ceramics and the ultrasonic motor speed control method, points out the shortcomings and defects in ultrasonic motor controller, and raises the design scheme of this project.(2)Based on the research of the ultrasonic motor and controller, this paper proposes a new ultrasonic motor controller design, the first step to overcome the instability of open-loop control, realized the LLCC matching control at the same time, the ultrasonic motor working in the best state. This design scheme is to use STC12C5A60S2 as the main control chip, the combination of dc-dc boost circuit, dc- ac inverter circuit, LLCC matching circuit, and VSM025 A feedback circuit, form a closed loop control system, improve the stability of the system.(3)Loss distribution of the controller is discussed and the optimized design, meanwhile analyzes the capacitive and inductive load effects on push-pull circuit.(4)This paper briefly describes the system software design. Including the start-stop motor, control operations, regulating speed.(5)Experiment through the controller applied to the ultrasonic motor drive control signal waveform, and the related experimental data from the test result shows that the controller design scheme is reasonable, has reached the design target. The final summary and prospect for the whole subject research.
