Wind-induced economic losses of China has an increasing trend year by year, wind damage of village low-rise buildings occurred very easily as the imperfect theory of wind-resistant design of low-rise buildings. Wind disaster statistics show that wind-induced damage of low-rise buildings accounted for more than half of the total wind disaster losses, so it is beneficial to guide engineering practice and the revision of relevant standards from accurate studying wind pressure characteristics on surfaces of low-rise buildings. Numerical simulation method, in which RNG k-ε turbulence model was adopted, was employed in this article to study the influence of wind pressure on surface of two tandem gable roof low-rise buildings caused by several interference factors.First of all, on the basis of reliability of numerical simulation method was verified from comparing numerical results to wind tunnel test results, a detailed study was performed for influence of wind pressure on roof of gable roof low-rise buildings affected by spacing and included angle at different wind directions. The results show that wind pressure of interfering building was affected largely by spacing and smally by included angle, while wind pressure of interfered building was on the contrary. At oblique wind direction, the interfering building roof ridge where flow separetion happened on suffered strong negative wind pressure, the maximum negative wind pressure coefficient is up to-1.97; zones of leeward roof ridge and near the gable of interfered building were suffered relatively large negative wind pressure.Secondly, spacing, slope angle and onpenings at windward and leeward wall of interfering building were considered to study wind pressure on roof of low-rise buildings affected by internal and external wind pressure together. The results show that interfering building’s internal wind pressure was increased because of openings, the net wind pressure became large when combined it with external wind pressure, it’s about 1 time bigger than it when buildings have no openings, and the maximum net wind pressure coefficient is about to 2.0. Wind pressure of interfered building was influenced little by the openings. Wind pressure of each zones on roof of buildings were affected large by slope angle, windward eave of interfering building suffered strong negative wind pressure at 10° slope angle; leeward ridge had a large negative wind pressure at 20° and 30° slope angles. Interfered building was influenced by disturbing flow, so leeward ridge always suffered strong negative wind pressure.Finally, wind pressure on surface of existing building influeced by new building was studied, results show that the appearance and heighten of new building could obviously impact the magnitude and property of wind pressure on surface of interfered building, windward roof was the most severely affected areas, the maximum interference factor can reach-3.1. Different kinds of roof types also influence interfered building’s wind pressure, and gable and hip roof are relatively beneficial to wind resistance for interfered building.
