In recent years, urban traffic is crowded. The government and related departments take a variety of ways to control and management, and urban traffic signal control is an important mean to ease traffic pressure. In urban traffic networks green wave control is the most common method. By the method it becomes a possibility the vehicles run smoothly, the stopping rate and the delay decrease, and the traffic capacity of roads is improved.The core of the green wave band technology is the signal timing. Because the actual situation of the road traffic is complex, it is difficult for the traditional method to balance a variety of factors and get the best control scheme. According to the basic theory of urban trunk road coordination control, this article puts forward a timing method based on particle swarm optimization(POS) algorithm. In this paper, through the analysis about the actual traffic flow of continuous plane intersection, the two way green wave medol is established. The expression formulas of queue length, average delay and parking rate are given and the multi-objective model is established by the analysis of the model. Then based on particle swarm optimization(POS) algorithm, the basic steps of solving multi-objective are given.On the basis of traditional method, this paper proposes an integrated bandwidth that contains the public green wave bandwidth and additional green wave bandwidth to get a better timing plan. This paper designed the objective function of comprehensive green wave bandwidth. When the design cycle and the tape speed must be given, we can get the biggest green wave in the control system. The paper gives a method to access bandwidth and describes the optimization process of timing scheme.Taking Jin Keqiao Avenue as an example, based on Vissim software, the road network model is established. Traditional method, the solving multi-objective scheme and further optimized scheme are simulated respectively. To compare the results, it is known that the timing scheme of Multi-objective optimization method is superior to the one of the traditional method, and the further optimized timing plan has better control effect.
