As a distinguishingly temporary architectural structure, Tent have many specific features, for example, it can be convenient assembled and folded rapidly, has powerful motility, may be convenience to transports and stores, can be used repeatedly, and has a low request to the field and simple base setting. Therefore in civil and military fields the tent structures has an extensive application. In order to improve camping equipment technology level of our military and enhance the ability of military logistical support, a new model frame-type fold structure tent is developed and designed by constructional engineering research institute of the Liberation Army’s logistics department. Although the static force test of full-scale model for this tent conduct research, the relevant research for this tent is less at home and abroad, and there are no relevant design calculation methods and referenced rules for this new structural style. Therefore, carrying out the research for this tent takes on very important significance in theory and application.According to the structural force characteristic of this tent in the process, manufacture and the service condition, the influence factors about the load bearing and deformation performance of this tent are analyzed and discussed synthetically. Based on the research and analysis, the initial geometry imperfections are the main initial imperfections of the structure. According to the relevant actual measured datum about the initial geometry imperfections, using theories and methods of the probability and mathematical statistics, values and distribution of the statistical parameter about the actual initial geometry imperfections are calculated. Using analysis software of ANSYS finite element establishes the analysis model of the frame structure tent. Using consistent imperfect buckling analysis method, analyses the influence degree of the initial geometric imperfection for ultimate bearing capacity and deformation performance in the frame structure tent, under snow load, horizontal the wind load, vertical the wind load and the combination of the snow and wind load condition. From the above, we can get that the influence degree of the initial geometric imperfection to the structural ultimate bearing capacity is great, especially under the combination of the snow and wind load condition. So we can draw a conclusion that this influence of the initial geometric imperfection can not be ignored in structure design of the frame structure tent, and the conclusion provides the theoretical foundations for the improvement of the performance for the frame structure tent.
