The pre-tensioned suspension cable arch structure, a structure of low weight andhigh strength, incorporates the mechanical behaviors of the suspension cable and thearch. It has been applied uniquely to Jilin speed-skating gymnasium so far in China.Based on the project, the dissertation presents a detailed analysis of the structural typechoice, shape optimal, stability, earthquake responses and construction processsimulation of the long-spanned pre-tensioned suspension cable arch structure. The dissertation outlines the factors to be considered in form-finding oflong-spanned structures, compares the mechanical behaviors, inner space utility andaesthetic value of reticulated shell, spatial truss, string beam and suspension cablearch structure and concludes that suspension cable arch structure is the optimal plan.It also summarizes the principles in the rational forms of long-spanned pre-tensionedsuspension cable arch structure, compares the influence of the cable ratio of sag tospan, hanger cable, the arch ratio of rise to span, mast obliquity on the dynamiccharacteristic of suspension cable arch structure, determines the optimal spatial formand advances the principles in determining the pre-tension.The dissertation summarizes the methods of eigenvalue buckling analysis ofpre-tensioned structure, explores the eigenvalue buckling of suspension cable archstructure under different load distribution and different pre-tension and concludes thefeatures of eigenvalue buckling and the influence of pre-tension. By further analyzingthe influence of initial imperfections and material elastic-plastic on ultimate capacityof suspension cable arch structure, it is proposed that in designing long-spanned roofstructure the reticulated shell structure design regulation should not be appliedmechanically. Instead the overall stability should be considered.Based on the dynamic characteristic analysis of pre-tensioned suspension cablearch structure, the dissertation presents an analysis of earthquake responses of thestructure by equivalent base sheer method, earthquake response spectrum method andtime-history method and makes suggestions in designing similar structures. Based on a summary of literature available on construction process simulationof pre-tensioned structure, the dissertation proposes ways to process numerical valuesof cable clement in construction process. Finally construction process simulation andconstruction error analysis of Jilin speed-skating gymnasium roof structure prove thatthe construction method to meet the hinged connection of the structure is feasible.
