With the growing demands for safety and comfort in vehicle, absorbers with changeable damping are the trend and the way of the future in vehicle suspension system. At present, some high-end cars and luxurious buses have already begun to use absorbers with changeable damping. So study a mechanical absorber with changeable damping has a realistic meaning.This study will be based on the theory of structure and the damping of shock absorber. First, analyze the structure of the absorber; find out designing approach and working principle. On the basis study the shock absorber damping. Build a vibration model of suspension, and study the force distribution of suspension model. Deduce the relationship between the damping force and suspension characteristics. Study the damping force of the principle, Build a simplified model of the valve, and use the principle of fluid mechanics. Derive a new formula of damping hole and throttle. Base on simplified model of the valve, Study the damping control principle of adjustable absorbers. Get the main factors which influence the damping. Through analysis and study of the model the influence of various influencing factors on the shock absorber damping force, sums up the characteristics of the shock absorber damping various adjustment methods, and find out the suitable for implementation method. Second, By establishing the target for the analysis of air suspension model, find out the suspension damping force to adjust demand target, using the shock absorber damping force and the regulation principle research conclusion, study of variable damping of suspension shock absorber structure, find out the regulation of easy to realize control mode, and use the simplified model of shock absorber valve for this paper, through the study of key parameter calculation, deduce the regulator is the main structural parameters of the adjustable shock absorber. Last, Study will combine the author’s company projects, And design a shock absorber use the theoretical achievements of this study,And test the absorber by bench test and vehicle test. Then verify the research results in practical application of damping on the range and speed of response can meet the needs of the suspension design.
