Wind power turbines as a green energy has increasingly developed, whose safety, operational reliability and economical efficiency are of vital importance. The strength of wind power turbine tower is one of the fundamental and key issues to ensure those performances and properties. This paper, by employing the method of finite element analysis, has made a thorough research on the issues like the strength, stiffness and stability of W2000 C 80m tower.(1)Established the tower analysis model of 2000 kW wind power turbine with the infinite element software to calculate the tower frequency and mode of vibration under the soft foundation and rigid foundation respectively in order to avoid resonance in 1st phase of bend frequency calculation and impeller vibration.(2)Calculated the ultimate strength and fatigue strength of flange bolt connection with aeroTower, a professional finite element software, and predicted the life circle of flange and bolt by fatigue damage theory.(3)Established the finite element models of gate section and tower top flange respectively by using the finite element software Ansys, and calculated stress concentration factor and stress increase factor of tower top by loading the limit load, basing on which the structure improvement scheme of gate section and the top has been brought out.The design problem has been timely found in the course of the research on the tower strength and vibration properties, by which the design efficiency has been improved with a theoretical reference to further tower analysis.
