Model-Based Design(MBD) process offers a unified simulation and test platform for embedded developers. Through MBD workflow, embedded developers can focus on algorithm building and testing, and the physical environment of simulation modeling, while the C code is automatically generated by RTW. In such way the developers can solve the complicated and time consuming coding problems. This paper, designs a reactive power compensation test platform under Simulink environment based on MBD. The test platform constructs a current compensation algorithm module and control module. Most of these algorithms can be generated directly by RTW, to C code. This paper also builds in unexpected elements which may happen in real life, such as three-phase voltage deviation, asymmetric voltage,three-phase asymmetric load, time-varying load, and load mutation. More innovatively, this paper builds a multichannel acquisition module, CT, PT, etc., which reduces the distance to the most extent between simulation and real testing. This paper compares and tests the traditional types and new types of compensation current algorithm in different environment, under test platform, and proposes a modified compensation current algorithm. Such algorithm increases the detection speed of compensation current, and enables RTW to have automatic code generation more effectively. This paper uses RTW-EC, so that the algorithm module and control module can generate C code automatically. This paper also tests the efficiency and the performance of the algorithm and the effectiveness of C code generated, through software in the loop and Keil-debug test. The results show that the C code which is generated automatically and the simulation module have the same performance and effectiveness, thus such C code can be directly applied to embedded systems. MBD workflow can greatly and effectively improve the speed of embedded project development.
