Along with the rapid development of the technique of manned space activities, the wastewater recycling technology in the space station has become the key to the progress of our country’s spaceflight business. And the vapor compression distillation technology becomes the preferred selection of the wastewater recycling. The roots compressor, which is one of the volumetric compaction machines, is the ideal model of the vapor compression and condensation in the vapor compression distillation device.Analyzing the influence of the structural and kinematical parameters of the roots compressor on its working performance to satisfy the work requirements of the vapor compression distillation device is the main purpose. The main content include:Directing against the work requirements of the vapor compression distillation device, the expressions of rotor profiles named “Arc—Involute—Arc envelope” is established, and profiles and the 2D model of the roots compressor are plotted in Creo Parametric 2.0.The 2D model is imported into ANSYS ICEM CFD to generate mesh. The inlet part and outlet part adopt quadrilateral mesh, and the rotating part adopts triangle mesh.The inside flow field of the roots compressor is analyzed by ANSYS Fluent. According to the working conditions of the roots compressor, the initial and boundary conditions are set up. In addition, the meshes update is controlled through a profile in the process of rotation.The results of numerical simulation show that the changes of the static pressure and the flow velocity inside flow field, and the reasons of the exhaust flow pulsation.On the premise that the simulation results are accurate and reliable, analyzing and comparing the results with different kinematical and structural parameters to optimize the working performance of the roots compressor.
