Oil pumping unit is the main oil production equipment. In China, beam pumping unit is widely used in oilfields for its wide advantages, such as its simple structure, easy manufacturing, maintenance and high reliability. But it costs much energy which will increase the cost of exploration. The energy spent in exploration takes 1/3 in the oil production cost. So saving energy in oil pumping can make oil products competitive. Since the application of secondary regulation technology can recycle and reuse energy, the secondary regulator technology used in pumping can effectively improve their energy efficiency.First of all, based on abundant oil exploration research reports, the development and present situation of hydraulic oil pumping unit are introduced. Mechanic driving oil pumping and hydraulic driving oil pumping are compared. The characteristics of secondary regulation oil pumping unit are provided. Methods of saving energy are introduced, and they are compared. The characteristics of secondary regulation oil pumping unit are also provided. Its strueture and working principle are introduced. The design principle of a secondary regulation oil pumping unit is given.Secondly, some of the key components in the hydraulic system are calculated and selection. Mathematical models of the secondary regulation oil pumping unit at upstroke and down-stroke are bui It. Using Simulink the simulation models of the secondary regulation oil pumping unit are built and simulated. The simulation results show that dynamic characteristics are poor before a controller is not added. There is a big overshoot and shocks for speed and pressure response and and it needs a long time to adjust.Thirdly, a design and simulation for control strategy of hydraulic system is made. Act on system model respectively by traditional PID control and RBF neural network PID control. And improve the problems existing in the RBF neural network PID control. The simulation results show that the improved RBF network PID has better dynamic properties for the speed response, which is faster and there is no overshoot and volatility.Finally, energy saving is catculated with a result of 16 percent. Based on the Lab VIEW respectively implement the testing interface and programming of controller for the traditional PID and the improvement of the RBF network PID paving the way for future experimental research.
