Wheel mold is the key equipment in the process of automotive wheel manufacturing. The performance of wheel mold spreader has a direct effect on productivity and quality of automotive wheel, because the working condition of wheel mold is very bad. Wheel mold will bear thermal wear, thermal erosion, thermal fatigue during operating process.In this paper, laser cladding remanufacturing means and remanufacture the ory were introduced. the mold remanufacture and optimum laser cladding proce ss parameters were analyzed. the microstructure and properties of the cladding layer of Ni/Co-based composite powder were studied. Besides, feasibilities of p ractical application of wheel mold after laser cladding are analyzed.Based on the remanufacture theory, the process of remanufacturability eval uation of used wheel mold is presented, in which technology feasibility, econo mic feasibility and environmental benefits of wheel mold remanufacturing are the evaluation indexes. In addition, the quantification methods for each index a re analyzed and determined. Then, an integrated method for evaluating the rem anufacturability of used wheel mold oriented to remanufacturing process is prop osed.The laser cladding experiment adopt the H13 as the matrix and high temp erature alloy powder Ni1035 as cladding material. the single laser cladding exp eriment is carried out with controllable processing parameters-scanning speed a s variable. The BP neural network is introduced to forecast the height and wid th of cladding layer. The layer of microstructure and microhardness in different scanning speed are analyzed. Finally, the optimum scanning speed is acquired. The optimum scanning speed is used in single and overlap laser cladding,the cladding materials including high temperature alloy powder Ni1035 and Co2737. The two different single layer of microstructure, microhardness and thermal c orrosion property were studied comparatively. Besides, the service life of wheel mold spreader after laser cladding remanufacturing is more than double that o f the new mold through the actual practice.Based on the work condition of wheel mold, through improving the lab or iginal laser equipment, and the equipment is applied in the laser surface therm al fatigue experiment. Combining with the heat treatment, the Ni1035 laser of microstructure changes were studied after laser surface thermal fatigue, and th e changes reasons are explained.
