Study On Fuzzy Logic Control Strategy Of Heavy Hybrid Off-highway Dump Truck

With the increasing cost of fuel, one of the effective ways to reduce the dump truck use cost is applied hybrid vehicle technology in itself. The vehicle control strategy is to a large extent determines the performance of hybrid vehicles. The dump truck control strategies should based on the signal of the gas pedal, brake pedal and gear switch to determine the driver`s intention, and with the prerequisite of satisfying the driving requirements, the control strategies should control the torque distribution between engine and electric motor to obtain high fuel economy.This topic on the basis of original dump truck associated with the technical conditions, with the prerequisite of satisfying the driving requirements, the engine,motor, batteries, and other parts of hybrid dump truck are matched, then built the hybrid dump truck`s simulation model in the Cruise simulation software. Secondly,analysis of the hybrid dump truck energy transfer process and control requirements,compared with the logic threshold control, based on the fuzzy control theory has good robustness and real-time advantages, designed a fuzzy controller and built the fuzzy control strategy in the Simulink software. The fuzzy controller have many parameters,such as membership function and fuzzy control rules, so it will be difficult to find the best control parameters. Aimed at these disadvantages of the fuzzy controller, with analyzing the torque request of the vehicle and the current battery state of charge(SOC), then the fuzzy controller parameters are optimized to ensure the engine to operate near the optimal efficiency curve by using particle swarm optimization(PSO)based on the optimization object of fuel economy.Compared with traditional fuzzy controller, the simulation results show that this method maintains battery SOC within its operation range more effectively and improve the fuel economy of the hybrid dump truck. This research it`s instructional and worthy to the future development of the vehicle controller.
