At present, due to the less practical application of distribution network automation, and the existing distribution network do not have self-healing function, lead to the result of user outage time become longer when a fault occurred, and usually can not realize the load transfer of non-fault area. The 12 k V vacuum circuit breakers are widely used in the distribution system, but we can’t obtain the health status of the circuit breaker, only through regular maintenance to eliminate the incipient fault. The paper, through the research in the DTU that with the functions of protection and circuit breaker online monitoring to solve the above problems. The main contributions are summarized as follow:1. The design of the whole hardware system of the DTU device, focusing on the hardware design of the CPU module, IO module and TRIP module. Studied on the protection function of the DTU device, when there was a fault, it can rapid identify the fault. Through the control of distribution switch to isolate the fault and restore the power supply of non-fault area. Studied on the mechanical characteristics of circuit breaker and closing coil current parameters in judging whether the circuit breakers are working in normal operation. By selecting related sensor, realized the acquisition of the mechanical characteristics of circuit breaker parameter, through mechanical characteristic parameters obtained, draw out circuit breaker trip time curves and closing coil current curve, used on analysis and judged whether the circuit breaker operating mechanism is normal.2. In the study of the application of the DTU device in distribution network automation scheme of double power supply with hand in hand ring network in the application of self-healing control under the different modes. Studied on a fault in the line of contact, a fault in the load switch outlet scheme and a fault in the circuit breaker outlet scheme, the DTU how to cope with the master station of distribution switch control, complete isolation of the fault area and then restore the power supply of the non-fault area. Setup the demonstration system of distribution network automation scheme with the function of centralized self-healing.3. Through the experiment to verify the self-healing process when the different types of failures in different point in the distribution network, and measured the healing time. The establishment of the demonstration system of designed distribution network automation scheme. We got the online monitoring waveforms from actual project, through the comparison and analysis, and then judged the possible fault part. After the overhaul of circuit breaker, verified the correctness of fault location analysis, which also verifies the feasibility of the circuit breaker online monitoring of the DTU device. Through the experiment and practical project to verify the function of the DTU device designed in this paper.
