| In recent years, with the increasing of energy consumption and air pollution, the rising price of oil and other fossil fuels, more and more countries pay attention to the development and utilization of marine energy in the world. Since 2010, the State Oceanic Administration combine with the Ministry of Finance of China arrange 200 million yuan special fund annually, to support the development and utilization of marine renewable energy. Under the supportive of China government, the development of tidal energy converters have acquired a lot of achievements, but the efficiency of TEC is still not satisfied. Power performance testing and analyzing is conducive to the TEC conversation efficiency raising and electricity price decreasing.Under the study of tidal energy converter at home and abroad, the requirement of power performance testing of TEC is analyzed, the power performance testing method of TEC is introduced. Eventually, based on the TEC testing requirements, the power performance testing method of TEC is proposed. This method mainly analyzed measurement feature, confirmed the position of measuring instruments and data acquisition requirements, researched the calculation method of power characteristic indicators. Based on this, “Haineng III†tidal energy converter is selected for testing, and the comprehensive testing engineering prototype and marine environment monitoring buoy is placed to the test site in August 2014. During the site testing period, the connection between testing system and TEC, and data acquisition software is introduced.The real sea condition test data of "variable geometry turbine TEC that is based on the advantage of tidal energy" project is used to study the method of analyzing the power characteristic. The results show that:(1) tidal flood and ebb power curve of vertical axis TEC has a similarity;(2) When the tidal speed reaches cut in speed of TEC, the conversion efficiency is fluctuant. Conversion efficiency has been greatly improved when tidal speed around 1m/s, and when the tidal speed at 2.5m/s, the conversion efficiency of TEC reaches its maximum value;(3) The output power of TEC under tested has been always increasing, this means tidal speed does not reach the maximum value that TEC output power at its maximum value.The innovation of this article is that TEC power performance is tested in the real sea condition, and method of bine is used to process the site test data. This testing and analyzing method can satisfy the power characteristics testing requirement of TEC, at the same time under the supportive of special fund of marine renewable energy, there will be a large number of tidal energy converters into the real sea condition demonstration phase. Therefore, the research on power performance testing and analyzing method of electricity producing tidal energy converter has a broad application prospects. |
