Study On Wayfinding System Design Of City Park In Chongqing

With the rapid development of economy and city in our country, City Park,, as a public space for human being communicating with nature and city, plays an irreplaceable part in the ecological balance and the cultural construction of a city. the building of the city park is becoming vigorous,in the meanwhile, the problems loom large in the relatively delayed park signage system.if the entire design of a city park is out of step with the park signage system in a city,or there is a lack of a clear Wayfinding System in the city park, the city park’s space can’t be showed and used fully.How to plan and design the Wayfinding System in the park reasonably and to make the public service function of a city park can be fully realized, which is the the main thrust of the research in this thesis.The park signage system is a product of the combination of functionality, artistry, and cultural. firstly, the functionality brings visitors’ actions a lot of convenience, which is the backbone of the wayfinding system presence; secondly, the artistry is the appearance of the wayfanding system, which gives people beautiful enjoyment; thirdly, the cultural is the essence of the wayfinding system, which gives people distillation of ideas. the three go together,and have no separate existence. consequently, the thesis sets to study and proceeds its analysis revolving around the three aspects.This thesis mainly focuses on the wayfinding system in Chongqing city park. in addition, it Sums up the state of the wayfinding system and analyses the problems of the existing typical wayfinding system in Chongqing city park, Through field investigation in the wayfinding system in Chongqing city park. Finally, combining the design theories about the park signage system at home and abroad with the excellent cases. this thesis, As a design concept by binding the functionality, artistry with cultural.,puts forwards the corresponding design suggestions for the wayfinding system in Chongqing city park.There are six parts below.Part1.it’s the intrudction, of the entire thesis,.in this part, the reaserch background, the objective,the framework of the thesis and the concepts about the wayfinding system in city park are all introduced.Part2.the origins of the park signage, a general overview of park signage at home and abroad, have been introduced, and attention is fixed on the new concepts about Wayfinding System Design of City Park in recent years.Part3.categorising the city park signage and wayfinding system accoding to the function and the form, and, then analyzing its performance forms and features.Part4.based on the theoretic research, by investigating and analysing the state of the wayfinding system in Chongqing samples city park, it reveals that there is a dispropornationate ratio of the existence-space of the wayfinding system in typical city park in Chongqing, that the wayfinding system can’t blend into the landscape design, that the choices of the signage and wayfinding system are lack of foundation, that the time node which the wayfinding system intervented in lags, that it is thoughtless about the vulnerable group and so on.Part5.drawing out the systematic design countermeasure according to the problems as is stated above, which contains that it should correspond to the park’s theme and the region culture, that being coordinated with the landscape space, that function and art are to be united, that the demand for humanization design.Part6, conclusion and illustration, summarizing the fruit of the research, concluding the, limitation of the research...
