In the face of severe energy consumption, as well as the increasingly prominent contradiction among economic, environmental and social development, energy saving has been the subject of today’s society. Office building, as one of building types enjoyed the construction of larger amounts, has a higher energy consumption of air conditioning. However, Natural ventilation which has a character of passive cooling, can not only solve the large energy consumption caused by traditional air conditioning system for better indoor thermal environment, but also improve indoor air quality, bringing physical and mental health for office staff. On the premise of meeting human comfort, take advantage of natural ventilation can reduce air conditioning usage time, and achieve the goal of building energy efficiency.First of all, this article analyzes the related factors of severe cold area of open office space and natural ventilation, starting from three aspects, such as the climate elements, space elements and thermal comfort evaluation. And then the boundary conditions for the simulation, simulation variables and criteria on the basis of it is established. Second, based on the field investigation and questionnaire survey, this article researches the natural ventilation of offices building in cold area in transition seasons and summer, and the typical models of open office space of unilateral and bilateral ventilation in cold area is built by combining with the statistical data and the questionnaire results. as well as putting forward the simulation process and framework. Then use AIRPAK software to simulate. Finally, combined with the theory of fluid mechanics and aerodynamics, evaluate and compare space natural ventilation by using the visual and quantized distribution of indoor wind speed, age of air and human thermal comfort data. After that, summary the existing problems of using of natural wind in open office space design and put forward the corresponding optimized design strategy.The results of this article can provide reference standard of open office space design based on science, which has a certain guiding significance for natural ventilation design in office buildings,for relevant designers. As the same time, it can also make up for the lack of research of natural ventilation in cold regions’ office space in transition seasons and summer.
