Since the Chinese revolution, there are a lot of changes happening. There are some problems coming up with these evolution. Architecture too focus on its appearance and ignore the relationship with streets. Walking space for pedestrian are compressed and even disappeared along the street. City lost its personality and become all the same with each other. During the renovation of Pingan street, author thinks that street design should be based on the pedestrian’s feeling. Following the principal of focusing on pedestrian acknowledgement about street, integrated and interactive design are proposed with the relationship of buildings and streets boarders. Therefore the main idea of this thesis is how to integrate the borders of streets into a whole. How to balance the relationship between architecture and streets. How to design a street based on human activities. How to create innovative landscape on streets. The final purpose will be the integration of human, streets and architecture.
