The main task of China’s Lunar Exploration Project Phase Ⅲ(Chang’e 5 detector) is to achieve lunar samples which keeps the regolith sample stratification information and is not less than 2 meters length return to earth. Rotary drive components is an important power mechanism of sampling device, which provides sufficient power for coring drill’s rotary drilling to ensure the drilling tool work in accordance with a specified pattern, and its performance and reliability is critical. Rotary drive components is to be experienced harsh mechanical environments during the transport, while working in a vacuum high-low temperature alternating environment of the lunar surface, based on this background, this research expanded the experimental study of the transmission characteristics.Analyzed the system composition and working principle of rotary drive components. Based on its operating mode, this paper did the corresponding theoretical calculations. Simulation of the temperature rise of rotary drive components in different modes of operation were estimated. Based on the high-low temperature alternating environment, thermal stress of the rotary drive components simulation analysis was done.According to the test to be performed for the rotary drive components, developed the functional performance test bench, high-low alternating temperature vacuum test bench and vibration test stand, and designed appropriate test programs and test procedures. Designed the loading apparatus which was used in the vacuum high-low alternating temperature test and simulated the radial and axial loads for rotary drive components.Carried out the performance tests of rotary drive components at normal temperature and pressure. Based on the test results, analyzed the temperature characteristics of rotary drive components and the influence of the load torque on speed, electrical parameters and transmission efficiency; Compared the influence of load torque and driving voltage on the transmission efficiency and a significant difference was emerged.Carried out the environmental test which included high-low alternating temperature vacuum test and vibration test for rotary drive components. Verified the ability of rotary drive components to withstand harsh mechanical environments; Compared the results of high-low alternating temperature vacuum test and functional performance test, analyzed the influence of temperature, pressure and lubrication on the transmission efficiency; Designed the orthogonal experiment, by extreme difference analysis and variance analysis, compared the influence of environmental pressure, ambient temperature, working speed and load torque on transmission efficiency and a significant difference was emerged.The transmission characteristics of rotary drive components obtained herein, has important practical value for further high performance gear transmission mechanism and system, it lays the experimental and theoretical basis of the third lunar exploration mission and also ensures the successful completion.
