Forklift is the indispensable component of the mechanical system for modern logistics. Demand for forklift increases recent years due to rapid growth of logistics worldwide. Also, all kinds of energy crisis erupt nowadays. Consequently, the research on electronic, energy-saving and high efficiency forklift provided us with enormous market profits, considerable social benefits, and new trend of forklift manufacturing in China and all over the world.For this paper, the status of forklift industry is described in the first place, then followed by the latest achievements and applications of forklift energy-saving technology and secondary regulation method both domestically and internationally. And the significance of research on forklift energy-saving technology manifests, so does the possibility analysis of research on secondary regulation method.Furthermore, the structure and working principle was demonstrated so as to figure out the main reasons of energy loss. And the scheme of recycling the potential energy is proposed based on the secondary regulation method when the fork descends. After that, the schematic of forklift hoisting hydraulic system is plotted and models of main hydraulic components are determined.Next, model of traditional forklift hoisting hydraulic system is established with AMESim R10, so are the models of secondary elements pump /motor and the contrary new system on the basis of secondary regulation system. Changing the key components of the new system and examining the influence of main parameters of these components on energy-consuming supply us with solid theoretical foundations so as to design new hydraulic system and select components reasonably.Lastly, the energy-saving advantage of the new electric forklift hoisting hydraulic system based on the secondary regulation method over the traditional counterpart is double-checked by comparing the installed power and energy consumption of both these two systems.
