In submarine design we usually use T-shaped ring stiffened cylinders for the pressure hull, for warrant the bearing capacity also reduce the weight, the design of ring frames is always the focal point of submarine designer. By the increase of the submerged depth, there is more possibility of the frame tripping, then the tripping may be effect the stability of the pressure hull. This article is systemic study on the frames tripping in ring stiffened externally pressurized cylinders.First, based on the feature of the structural parameter, we decide the geometric parameter programs by the effect of the design value. Use the programs for the theory analysis of frame tripping critical pressure, then we can get the effect of frame parameter to the lateral stability of frames and the sensitiveness of these parameter. The we can design the FEM models for all the vary operating modes and programs. Use the models for the FEM calculation then we can research the character of the frame tripping post buckling. By the research we could analysis the effects of the frame tripping for the bearing capacity of the pressure hull. Then we could search the mechanics of the failure by the frame tripping in the condition of the large deformation. At last by the FEM calculation of the canonical frame tripping models and the shell buckling models, to research the vary modes of the buckling of the pressure hull, then we can get the effect of the frame parameter for the buckling of the ring stiffened externally pressurized cylinders.By all of the research, this article initiative educe the rule of how the frame parameter effect the frame tripping of ring stiffened externally pressurized cylinders. It is an useful reference for the parameter design of the ring frames of the cylinders.
